Are missing claws common or do you know if that is a hawk you photographed before?

Top drawer Eddie. I can only wish.

Thanks Robert, much appreciated. I was actually thinking about you when I was there. At one point a puffin flew along the ridge making a strange call and seconds later every single puffin had either took off or went inside a burrow to hide. Next thing I see is a massive eagle swooping along past the ridge so the first puffin must have been giving the warning. I never managed a shot of the eagle even though I tried (my reactions for BIF are not good) and I thought to myself I needed Medicineman here to capture the moment!

On an aside, on the boat over to this island I was feeling really sea sick as it was really choppy. My wife was actually being sick and I was holding my daughter who was then sick all over herself too. I was trying to look after her, whilst trying not to lose it myself. Luckily Callum just lay down and went to sleep on the seat because if he had been ill too I dont know what I would have done. It was all worth it though to get close to the puffins

Excuse the iphone photo but here is an image showing how close we were getting (The photo also showed me I was balder than I thought :-) )

I tested my Batis 18 this morning before sending it off to Zeiss for repair. It didn't have the AF motor issue. AF was fast and there was no buzzing. I'll keep testing it. I suspect the issue will return though.

Great idea and series. I hope you'll be able to continue that tradition for many years ahead...and that climbing onto that stump won't get too difficult for you. ;-)a

This is the island of Staffa which is the first island I went to on Saturday. The cave you see here is called Fingals Cave. Unfortunately the sky was overcast grey so the image isnt the best, I also cut off the left hand side by mistake. 5 shot panorama

I especially like the 3rd image with the head-on view.

With no distinct edges, I thought the cave was some kind of shadow or anomaly on the image at first glance.
