Things I like about it are of course 2.8 and the size/weight is tops.
I didn't like the AF feel before the update but now it is fixed I give it
a positive nod, it's just not a focal length I shoot at but think the range
should be in our bags.
Real question is, if on a sunny day would I grab it or the FE24105. I used the
heck out of the FE24105 in Newfoundland and the waterfalls at Ricketts and Watkins
Glen an it is ...to my eye... a fantastic lens.

Tomorrow the Samyang 24 arrives to fill out my small AF FE kit=24/35/55/85.

So help me a bit...... If I sell the 28mm I can get almost 300 net. So then this is an additional 500 bucks to get.

Is the FE28 vs the 28 on the Tammy close?

Pano using my A7iii w/ Sigma 24mm ART. This is a view of the city of Vancouver from Queen Elizabeth Park.

If I took this same photo with my Fuji the image would look more canvas or painterly. Even my Canon would render this image in a totally different way.

I'm surprised the detail this 24MP sensor pulls!

Yes Eddie! Van looks awesome 8-)8-) We have been thinking about a 'cheap' van ourselves - more of an overnight /weekend van. But..... It's weighing up the cost and running costs vs how much use it would get..? I already have the Escort as well as the daily Focus so there's also the issue of where to keep /park it.....

If I had a choice of FE 28/2 or the Tamron FE AF 28-75 no doubt I grab the Tamron.
Just do yourself a favor and Lensrental the Tamron before buying they you will know for sure.

Lee I predicted when we did the campervan that it would sit 99% of its life in the driveway. I was wrong. 23 trips and 27K miles so far.
My off week starts today and we'd be off on a journey but I've got a bunch of the electrical pulled out for a re-do. We'd developed a dead
cell in one of the AGM batteries....can't just replace one, have to replace two :( So I decided to go lithium (twice the reserve power and 1/3 the
weight) but that led to a lot of other changes I'm still working on.

Well that, and we're drilling a new well next week at the cabin, and there's the roof rack on the camper I'm working on.

No time to drink!

I could be wrong, but the Tamron feels optically stronger at 28mm..... Find it tough to justify that lens, considering, my "small" great needs are covered. Would love an 18 mm f4 pancake from Samyang...

Speaking of 28mm , this lens (Contax Zeiss 28/2.8) is insane. Well all Zeiss lenses are insane.

Couple from my recent Disney drip. A7R2 + CZ 28/2.8 manual focus.

Thanks Lee. Its the best thing ive done. I was also worried about how much use it would actually get but we are getting into the habit now of finishing work on a friday and heading away somewhere until the sunday (in addition to the longer trips we do in it) so its getting plenty of use. Lots of family memories made already. Hopefully also give me photo ops

Wow what a trip!!!
Don't know about the eagle...White Tailed Sea Eagle in you part of the world? Quicker than our Bald Eagles....I'd probably been too slow too.
Can't imaging getting that close to the Puffins! That must have felt totally incredible.
Hey, your campervan looks killer! Digging the wheels.
I'm soon to put a lift kit on ours :)
But currently in thick with the wiring of 2 x 100 amp-hour lithiums which means everything programming wise
on the dc-dc charger (Sterling Power), the solar panel, and the Samlex charger-inverter changes.

White tailed sea eagle! Spot on!

That is awesome, I wish I had done that with my kids :)

Thanks Gary, It was just by chance that this happened. We were there the first fathers day and took a photo. It was months later I had the thought of doing it every fathers day. So from now on I dont want a fathers day present or a card, all I want is for them to be there for that photo. Im sure it will get harder when they are in their teens! May have to incentivise them

That's just magnificent, Eddie!

Thank goodness you resisted the urge to ND it – the texture of the sea against the natural smoothness of the sky is masterly.

Thanks! I almost binned it as I wasn’t happy with the way the colours were due to the bright sun. I took this handheld from the deck of a car ferry. I’m really liking the Batis 85 stopped down for landscapes
