I snagged this bottle of Pacifico from my neighbor yesterday to try out and placed it in my frig to enjoy later today.

Not much editing done to this shot other than bump up exposure and adjust white/black points in ACR, add sig in PS CC + a couple additional, minor tweeks.

Speaking of 28mm , this lens (Contax Zeiss 28/2.8) is insane. Well all Zeiss lenses are insane.

Couple from my recent Disney drip. A7R2 + CZ 28/2.8 manual focus.

Thanks for the offer. I will consider it in future. I had the zeiss GAS some years ago and bought myself 100/2 , 135/2.8, 50/1.4, 28/2.8. . Hardly getting time to use my lenses.

Charlie is that because you got the tamron? How you finding that for landscapes compared to the CY?

yes. As far as I can tell, the tamron seems sharp to the edges and autofocuses like a native lens. It doesnt give the zeiss look, and I'm ok with that.

unlike the 24-70 f4, I'm not finding many weakness with the tamron. I havent done proper testing, however looking from my images taken (many on tripod), I'de guess that wide open, tamron is likely stronger at most, if not all focal lengths. Stopped down, probably a mixed bag. Likely the CY @ 70mm, likely tamron from 35-50. It's all so close, I'm not even bothered to test TBH. Tamron is the no nonsense approach and it takes the same filters as the CY, so it's a simple switch for me. I'm hugely into video these days, and the tamron is a no brainer in that aspect, I cant use the CY on a gimbal. On a size level, the footprint is similar, the CY is smaller by negligible amounts, takes up the same amount of space in my very small bag (peak 5L).

the lens is a bit plasticky, but hard to deny its performance.

The Tamron is partially tempting me at the moment in all honesty. Not fully, but just a niggle... ;)

Lee I predicted when we did the campervan that it would sit 99% of its life in the driveway. I was wrong. 23 trips and 27K miles so far.
My off week starts today and we'd be off on a journey but I've got a bunch of the electrical pulled out for a re-do. We'd developed a dead
cell in one of the AGM batteries....can't just replace one, have to replace two :( So I decided to go lithium (twice the reserve power and 1/3 the
weight) but that led to a lot of other changes I'm still working on.

Well that, and we're drilling a new well next week at the cabin, and there's the roof rack on the camper I'm working on.

No time to drink!

xpfloyd wrote in post #18665120 (external link)
Thanks Lee. Its the best thing ive done. I was also worried about how much use it would actually get but we are getting into the habit now of finishing work on a friday and heading away somewhere until the sunday (in addition to the longer trips we do in it) so its getting plenty of use. Lots of family memories made already. Hopefully also give me photo ops

Thanks for the input guys. I have my kids every other weekend (age 12 & 14) but the girlfriend is soon starting a Mon-Fri days only job too ;) I only work M-F 7-4:00 anyway ;) Might see how things go with weekends & see exactly how much time we have. Weekends is the only time I really take the Escort out for random drives too though & I don't really use that as much as I'd like as it is.....

I snagged this bottle of Pacifico from my neighbor yesterday to try out and placed it in my frig to enjoy later today.

Not much editing done to this shot other than bump up exposure and adjust white/black points in ACR, add sig in PS CC + a couple additional, minor tweeks.
