Our goldens love the beach. Unfortunately, the one on the left blew out his knee on this visit and ended up with TPLO. They did have fun though.

We've been fostering dogs for almost 2 years now, and it's been a wonderful experience, even if a little emotional at times.

Henry is our foster failure dog (foster failure = when foster parents become attached to a pet they're fostering and decide to adopt them for themselves). Henry was an owner-surrender. Left outside and fed when he cried, he came to us at 110lbs and didn't have the energy to walk around the block.

Limon arrived at LAX from Turkey in late May as part of the Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue International rescue program. When we first got Limon as a foster she was aloof, confused, and showed signs of resource guarding and food aggression. Since then, with Henry’s help, we’ve worked to gain her trust, shown her that food and toys are aplenty and that it’s okay to share. She was also diagnosed with a mast cell tumor in her neck that was removed about a week and a half ago. Post surgery reports a low-grade tumor, fully excised and no evidence in the lymph system!

I snapped the picture below, the day after Limon's surgery and just love the facial expressions on the two of them

Henry is and has been such a great mentor and big brother to the fosters that we've taken in.

Nice shot! If that's salt water, don't let them drink too much.

Yes, it is the beach out near Westport, WA. They each tried to drink once when young, but they stopped after one taste:-)

Seeing all of these goldens sure makes me smile.

Phoebe is growing like a weed and eating a ton. We finally were able to take her to the lake (after her shots were done) to see what sort of a water dog she would be. She went absolutely NUTS! I couldn't decide between taking some photos or swimming with the dog. We even took her to the dog park and she had a blast. Lots of dogs to play with and somehow she found mud. I thought it was hilarious-my GF wasn't quite as amused as I was. We're going to go camping next and see if Phoebe will be an adventure dog. So far, so good. Maybe we'll invite the GF, too.

The newest addition to our pack of furry grandchildren - "Mikey," had his first visit to the fountain yesterday.

I gotta show this thread to my wife, it'll bring her pure joy.

This is MJ, a Japanese-bred golden retriever that we brought to South Dakota this year.
