Juvenile Hairy Woodpecker.

Beautiful. My knowledge of Woodpecker is obviously stunted

Curious as to the behaviour of some of these smaller birds.

We have some lovely tits and wrens but they are so busy. They just don't sit still for any length of time and flit about with incredible speed.
They certainly don't hang around waiting for their photo to be taken.

Suppose the meaning of the word 'flighty' is apt..

This is taken the same day as the Great Skua above. I were at Runde in Norway shotting Skau, Puffin, Razorbill, Common Murre etc., when a good friend phoned me and told, that he just had seen (Charadrius morinellus) - Eurasian Dotterel at Nipfjellet in Sweden, so next morning after a few hours among Skaus and Puffins I drove 8 hours to see and work with these Eurasian Dotterel´s in the evening. (I have searched for them several years - A big X in my calendar for an approved photo day)

These two are just super nice shots, Robert. I notice that you are shooting a bit more often with your a9. Do you prefer it over the other Sonys?

Honestly I don't care Mike as long as I'm shooting.
The a9 does spoil though it is so fast in everything.
My problem is I never met a camera I didn't like ;)

High praise, Jack, thank you. I’m keeping an eye out for the Pixma Pro-100 deal that pops up now and again. There’s def a bunch of shots from this year I want to put on paper :)

Thanks, Mike; my 1.4 TC is my problem child, wish it acted more like it’s old 2.0 brother. Jeff’s eraser trick seemed to have helped though, thankfully.

Lame-Duck wrote in post #18666382 (external link)
I also took Jeff's eraser advise and used it on my 1.4TC which I felt was performing somewhat poorly. With the few shots I've taken since, using my 500 and the 80D, better results are definitely noticeable.

Your welcome...lol :p
