I was running around western North Carolina for a few days and I crossed just over the South Carolina border to go to the Poinset Bridge. Just a dynamite Gothic arch structure.
This was built in 1820 to carry people and cargo across Little Gap Creek. It was on the state road between Columbia, SC and Saluda, NC. Story goes that there are unexplained things that happen here at night. I can see how it would be kind of spooky in the dark. But then most anyplace in these woods would be at night.
The light was great when I came on this as a storm was moving in yet there was still some bright spots through the canopy.
Very cool place.
