This guy curled up in a ball when I was taking his picture. Not sure if it was taking a break from weaving his web or was trying to hide from me.

Nicely done. The spider looks very threatening in the first pic. In the second, yeah, it looks like it is in defensive posture.

Both are really nice shots. The bee in the 1st image is covered with pollen.

The ones I've seen on here are black and have a very thin midsection. It could be this species (external link).

Hi, Ed. It looks similar, thanks. I don't have other pics of mine to show the abdomen better, but it does look like an ichneumon.

This fly looked pretty sick, it wouldn't fly around very far, so I took some shots of it since it wasn't flying off as I got pretty close to it. Later of course, he was found legs up on the pool table.

Good grab of a flesh fly (I think), with those bright red eyes.

I'll see your fly pic and raise you a fly pic. Picture-winged Fly. It's obviously showing off its nice wings. Not sure what purpose the patterns serve.

That is one amazing looking fly Archibald. I doesn't seem like those wing are strong enough to lift that heavy looking body off the ground. What a great shot!
