Sony Lounge Thread MKIII (All Sony cameras welcome)

One from the Russian River valley in May...working through some really simple yet fun images...no editing other than crop and Adobe Monochrome Profile applied in LR...and it didn't change much for that, it was very monochrome as shot due to the fog.

wrong poster...but thats ok...this is about as far from Roan as I could get in the lower 48!

so .. for adapted lenses..with flash..

CAF does not work well .. there is a 1-2 second lag between pressing the shutter and the picture actuall being taken..AND not only is there a lag.. but often a pulse that then takes the photo out of focus.

in single AF mode.. its quicker.. not native lens quick but reasonably responsive

is this what everyone else is experiencing ?

or is there maybe some setting I have to change?


the canon EF 35 works for me , because I can use it with all my mirrorless cameras .. and my old canon\\

Any of you use a Godox speedlight and MagMod combo? I have the TT685s and with the MagBounce attached, the flash head flops forward easily due to the weight. The flash head detents aren't strong enough to keep it in the up position. Does this occur with any of the other Godox speedlights?

Yeah I really love this case. I had the Noctis 450 before which has the same internals as the H440 but I prefer this case much more.

I'm going to be building myself a Ryzen rig possibly because im finding the A7III is really pushing my rig when it comes to certain tasks (i7-6700k @ 4.635, 32gb DDR4-3200, 1080Ti, 1TB 860 EVO, 500gb 850 EVO, 500gb 840 EVO, 4TB WD Red, 5TB WD Black) its excessive but its also partially because i totally detest the H440 my computer is cased in and simply building a rig from the ground up is easier than trying to recase it. I'm waiting on the new Phanteks Evolv X for a case however...

Well, in my case, I'm only worried about the connector to my laptop. According to Tether Tools, it looks like I need the one below although I'm still waiting for someone to confirm that the USB port on my Surface Pro is USB-A. The Surface Pro doesn't have USB 3 but this one should work anyway.

The one I link to on B&H is USB-2 to micro-B. and is a little less than the one recommended by Tether Tools. I don't mind spending the money...I just want to make sure the one I order is the correct one for my configuration.

That seems VERY very overpriced for what it is... a Type A to Type C cable isnt that expensive and should be fine... I paid a lot less for mine (Which i bought originally for my phone)

The price may be due in part to it being a USB-3 cable and that it's 15' long.

Well I caved and bought a used Rx1r ii to try out. If I like it I will be selling the x100f and the FE55. Love the FE55 but I prefer 35 and as such have to force myself to use the 55 even though I like the results when I do. I’ve come to realise I’m keeping the x100f for the wrong reasons. I much prefer the Sony files from my other camera but held onto the fuji as I love the retro looks/styling. It’s too good a camera to hold onto it for that reason.

The other thought I’ve been having recently is re-purchase the Batis 25 and for travel have B25/Rx1r ii/B85 and that way the B25 could double up as the landscape lens. Or B25/B40/B85 (my initial idea before the Rx1r ii). Time will tell

Carlo, I always liked your leather case on the Rx1r ii. Can you advise what one it is? Thanks

I like to shoot my 15 and 21 when I’m out doing dedicated landscapes (few and far between at the moment) but when I’m travelling or on trips I prefer 3 lenses to keep things small. Whilst I LOVE the FE28 for wide open family stuff I don’t really use it for landscapes as there is doubt in my head about stopped down IQ. That’s why I’m thinking the Batis would be a better option. Would give me wider than the Rx1r ii and can shoot family/environmental stuff but is also an awesome landscape lens. I loved the B25 when I had it

Out of interest (for myself anyway) I've gone through previous holiday albums & in.....

2015 - FE35 only!!
2016 - FE35, FD28, FD85
2017 - FE35, B85.......

2018 - ...?????
