I love the old Beemers. My first was a 1982 320I, my second was a 1984 325E. I loved the 325E!!! Straight six, 5 speed stick, sun roof, and it was wide open under the hood. I could sit on the fender with my feet inside and work on the engine. It wasn't long after I got rid of it before I regretted it.

This is a huge event every year in the city of Pittsburgh. The entire thing last 2 weeks. On the 2nd Sunday, the final day, right before the official races begin, there is a parade featuring the Marquee car of the year.

So, the parade is along the actual race "track" (track is in quotes here because it is actually on public streets). The "track" is approximately 3.2 miles long. The cars in the parade are told to stay 2 car lengths from each other. There were so many BMWs in the parade that they stretched the entire 3.2 mile track. You were asked to pre-register for the parade but you could also just show up on Sunday and register then. As of Saturday afternoon, there were 582 pre-registered BMWs for the parade.

Thanks Pigpen101
Any 3.0SI's?
My favourite after the 2002.
That was awesome machine, and it hummed, literally. Such a sweet, powerful engine.
Kids still remind me. 'you'd get past that sign dad and....'. Must have put the foot down! :p

Sounds an awesome event.

Yes, in the car show, not racing. Even saw a few Isettas!

It really is a cool event, started in 1983 by Myron Cope. A charity for autism, which his son had. Last 2 weeks! Everything from black tie events, to a car show @ Heinz Field, and even a day where they all spend the day driving through the mountains and country side and end up at a British Pub for lunch. Final day, race day, the crowd was estimated @ 250,000. Lot's of fun, even if you are not a "gear head".

Went to Brands Hatch to watch a mate racing, didn't intend to take many pictures, but there were loads of classics on track, so I couldn't help myself!

Practiced some slow panning. Still have a long way to go but my favorite panning image to date.

Ah, I saw your pictures on Ten Tenths! I'm not normally that enthused about talking pictures on the short Brands circuit (or the GP circuit now they have put all the damn fences up), but I couldn't help myself when I saw the saloon/modsport cars!

It may not be this year, but I will definitely be back to a CSCC round again, just to see that class racing.

Running out of days for the super saloons / modsports, we have:

Thruxton 18th - 19th August

&

Mallory Park 6th - 7th October

That's your lot for this season.
