...that is not stored on POTN?

I.e.,
I want to post an image on my own server and link to it on POTN. But that is not also stored on POTN so that when I remove the image, and the link is broken, POTN will not continue to display a stored copy?

Use the [IMG] tags and not the upload function

Thanks. Appreciate the reply. Just want to make sure that when using the image tags that POTN still does not store a copy of linked images.

Why not just test it? Post a pic you don't care about from your server to POTN using the IMG tags. Then remove it from your server and see what happens. Judging from the number of "missing" pics that exist in older threads, I'm pretty sure that POTN does not store a copy of externally hosted images.

We can't store few million embedded images locally for sure.

Note that when you add an image to gallery, a small thumbnail is created. If you want to remove that thumbnail, either remove the post, remove the image from your gallery.

Because I tend not to want to clutter forums with test images I don't care about.

Just posting a couple of pictures in one of the thousand "Post Your XXXXX Pictures" threads, and then removing the source of one out of the two wouldn't really be any clutter, would it? :)
