Hi all,

The recent lunar eclipse was a morning event for us on the east coast of Australia, with totality occurring just after the start of astronomical twilight in Brisbane. I took a photo every 5 minutes and then stacked them to produce this image, which captures the Moon and Mars setting in the west.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

Excellent presentation. Some effort in that.
Thanks for posting.

Thanks very much guys! There was a bit of fog at the start, but then it dropped to just above ground level Tony. It affected the first 3 or 4 photos that I took (which aren't included in this stack), but didn't cause any issues after that.

Cheers,
Stephen

Well done Stephen, as usual. Your photos are always the best. I was looking forward to see what your shots of the eclipse would be, and was thrilled with the outcome. Great job as always.

Nice to see the progression from full moon to blood moon as it set below the horizon.

Thanks very much guys!

It's been an interesting couple of weeks, because the first of these images went viral on Facebook and has been shared more than 358,000 times! I even did a little interview about the image and my photography for a travel blog, which was published last week :)
