Thank you!! That is a Spicebush Swallowtail. im actually surprised I got the wings in focus as they constantly flitter them, so its was lots of burst mode and hoping to get the timing right haha.

It was rewarding to see after it came to my yard, it went out to my SpiceBush shrub and checked it out..the whole 'Grow native!' thing works...

Nice ones, MJB. Was the Chalkhill taken this year? The only place we have seen this species was on Martin Down, but that was some years ago when there were quite a lot. In later years we have drawn a blank there and I hope the colony hasn't died out.
