A couple of Spotted Pardolotes. Very small birds.
1DXII and Sigma 500 with 2X were set up and I did get some shots with that combo.
The better shots were from the RX10 though.

Took the RX night rig out. It works! Took a 3:4 portrait crop out of the landscape original.

Powerful owl with Grey-headed flying fox.

My first time trying an 8 frame composite shot from RX10 Mk iv stills. I started out with a few frames and kept adding until I ran out of room on the canvas. I probably should have just split this into two separate 4 frame composites, but this is my first attempt at this so here it is. :-) Suggestions for improvement always appreciated. I subtracted the green color of the water and boosted the black and white levels for dramatic effect.

Cool, that's excellent. I need to have a go at that with my osprey shots... :)

Top work. :D

Thanks Gary! Yes, I'd love to see a composite of some of your shots from the Horn Mill Osprey Hide. :-)

Fantastic life capture, or death in this case :)
I've seen another owl, the Black and White Owl, in Costa Rica that eats bats specifically.

Pteropus poliocephalus. It's a megabat. Wingspan up to a metre.

While these shots are no testament to image quality, they are an example of the value of portability.

Week before last, in the middle of the afternoon, I heard a bunch of sirens passing our office and then stop right outside. When I looked out, there were multiple police vehicles, an ambulance, and fire investigation truck. Naturally, having my RX10 in the car, I figured it would give me the benefit of extended view so I grabbed it. Little did we know that someone had found a missing mother who had disappeared from a car accident the previous day. She was in the field out back, and unfortunately, she had passed. :-/

Here's the news article on it: https://www.dallasnews.com …plano-woman-drove-freeway (external link)

I captured these photos from our dock, about 80 yards away.
