Yes, I am curious too? There are a few major gems amongst the Canon bodies in the past.

40D, 6D, 1D4 etc were pretty pivotal in their era, and produce good results even compared to today for many kinds of situations.

Well that is 6.5 years old, and if it isn't wise to get a 4 yr old body, then it really makes no sense getting an even older used body.

I am seriously considering a 7DII right now, but there is no way I would buy it at new prices, since you can easily find a used one in nice condition for around 800.00. In fact, the only reason why I haven't bought one yet, is I can't decide between the 7DII and the 1DIV which you mentioned was one of Canon's best ever at release time.

Exactly!

Buying a 4 year old camera makes a lot of sense. . What doesn't make sense is paying new prices for it, because after a camera model has been around fro 4 years there are a lot of used ones available, and the used ones sell for less than the new ones.

It's not just about getting the camera that you need, it's also about paying as little as you possibly can for that camera.

I was in the same boat, deciding between a 7D2 and 1D4. After a lot of deliberation, I got the latter. It was the best decision I made camera-wise. Both are about the same price right now (used, of course). I would suggest getting the 1d4. If you don't like it, you can sell it back for a small loss - or a small profit

How do you get rid of a bunch of Canon W-E1 Wi-Fi cards? I really don't think many 7DII and affected 5D owners are running to buy
one of these cards. So inflate the camera price and then offer the same camera with the card for $300 less. Bingo you get rid of a card
and you sold a body. Lot of gullible folks out there as the B&H salesmen said better get one now before Canon pulls the deal.

So lose $300 in profit to liquidate a $10 card? That seems a bit odd, but I guess that works.

If they want to get rid of the cards, they could just start providing one free of charge with every 7D2, and 5DS/5DSr kit and body-only sale. Not good enough? Have a $200 instant rebate across the board on all bodies, kits, etc.

B&H just added to the site today (not there yesterday) "Deal ends Aug 4 at 11:59 PM ET"

I haver never felt "pressured" or tricked by a B&H salesman, and I've been dealing with them for about 12 years.

I agree I've been dealing with B&H since they were a hole in the wall store. This is coming from Canon I might be wrong but $1,400
was the going price for a 7DII before this all happened. Nobody is going to pay $1,800 for a 7DII.

I know I'M not paying that, but it's still the cost on the site. I believe the price will drop soon as I think the 7D III is due soon.
