For video, I'm surprised you didn't go with a green screen to make it easier to replace the background in post.

Yes, I cut his foot off, but this was a quick shot from one location to the next where I could get the "kids" to sit down on the dune. I used dual Flastpoint eVOLV 200s in the AD-B2 in 7" reflector, as it was too windy for any other modifier. Can your lightstand do this?

Like the get around lighting rig.
Two AD200s and the reflector do a good job getting the subject lit.
Only objection is the "crotch shot" angle and pose. The young lady was smart enough to keep her knees together. I think its a gene thing. :-)

If you couldn't tell, it's an old baby jogging stroller. Cut some straps and fabric from it that was hindering gear mounting, and I can put a C stand pole on one side (this is a broken lightstand with feet missing) and the turtle base on the other and get the light up to 10' in the air. It makes it easier to move gear from location to location without having to carry anything, even my backpack fits in there.

As for the lighting, I wasn't a fan of the hard light of the 7", but it was too windy for anything bigger. That being said, I'm glad I have a way to get some light on them without completely blowing out the sky.

I agree on the crotch shot, but boys will be boys, I guess. LOL!

Heya,

Not the typical lighting setup post, but hey, it qualifies I suppose. How about some ghetto lighting for macro at close proximity to avoid spectral highlights and blend ambient with flash?

The setup:

Fuji X-T1 Camera
Rokinon 50mm F1.2 Lens
Meike 16mm Extension Tube
Settings: 1/180s (sync), F8, ISO 800 (to blend ambient up to mix with flash)

Flashpoint LiON R2 TTL Zoom Flash
Cardboard bounce surface wrapped with tinfoil on flash head
Foam tray tapped to lens hood & bounce surface
Settings: Manual, 1/8th power (to expose subject)

Speaking of ghetto lighting:

SB-5000 @ full energy, f/8, ISO 400. I loathe white backgrounds and never use lighting this flat (except passport photos) but someone asked if eBay pics could be shot with one on-camera flash. I guess the answer is yes—if you insist!

Canon, Nikon, Contax, Leica, Sony, Profoto.
