Very nicely done! :-)

I did a shot similar to that, but mine was not done during an eclipse :-(

thank you! i know them feels, i have the worst luck when it comes to shooting moon events (pretty much every last one like super moon/eclipse/ISS passing through moon failed because of unexpected weather), this one it was complete overcast just hours earlier then when it cleared fogs rolled in to the point i wasn't able to get the moon set because how thick it got so this one almost didn't happen as well!

Great job with this composite! Were you able to view any of the other phases of the eclipse?

thanks David!

the near totality one was about as far as i got due to where i was being completely fogged out (and tbh i was affected by fog the whole time i was there) also the fact that the moon would've set when totality happens

i did get many more shots in between tho but was too lazy to make an interesting composite with them haha

Stupid fog. Bummer! Yes, that geography thing can also ruin our best plans. Someone must have got the entire thing, somewhere. But what you did get is really good!. I've just looked through Spaceweather's Eclipse gallery. Interesting stuff up there, and it is early yet. Your montage should be up there too.

thanks David too kind!

for real it wouldn't be a special moon event for me without some kind of weather obstacle getting in the way lol

I hope to have a good one tonight shortly.... but here is possibly my best one from last winter. Been going over my shoots and finding some gems hidden. This is a stack of the best 43 of 88 frames. I put a pic from this night up I believe, but I posted it at a much smaller size as it was not nearly as good as this. Pretty happy with this one.

Thanks much Dennis! The part of your comment I appreciate most is the mention of tonality. We are all after detail of course... but good tonality I equally aspire too... and fail often! Always learning! ;-)a

Regards

Mike

Last night tried to photograph Mars and took Moon shot to check lens focus (camera and lens mode is on manual). Moon came out okay but Mars with my setup - just radish spot.

Well, I knew the moon is made of cheese, but Mars and radish - that's new to me. :-P
