Mike, kind of getting away from the subject of Best Bird Portrait but in reply to your comment about those that enjoy waterfowling. I’m in the heart of the Mississippi flyway but never did any goose hunting. Only ducks. I lived for duck hunting. Had to slow down and finally quit due to old age and failing health. Here’s a shot of guys coming in from a morning hunt in one of the public hunting areas close to home.

Interesting shot Doc. I notice that those are all young guys, not old-timers like us. We have a lot of wildlife areas in central California where I live, and I either hunt the wildlife areas, or our family duck club (which is in the picture). I still manage to get out a couple times a week or more during our 3 month season, and generally the duck hunting is quite good (with geese now and then).
