Got my 2 1DX IIs today and am quite hoary to be back in the 1D-seres camp. Both of mine have the original Cfast card from the premium kit, which I understand from some internet research there was some problems with. Anything I should look for there or should they be replaced? I hit up BH and notice that Sony's CFast cards are on sale and at a pretty good price, so I thought about adding a couple of those.

I'm still using the SanDisk kit card in mine. I've added a 128GB SanDisk and three 64GB Lexar 3500 cards. All have worked perfectly. I've had my 1DX2 for 2 years.

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Great shot. Brings back memories of my visit there. Just wish I had your camera setup at the time!

I'm using the Integral CFast 2.0 card here, I used to go with sandisk with CF but damn those Cfast are expensive!

Integral one has faster write speed, but warranty is 5 years and not lifetime like sandisk/lexar (if that's still the case)

Not sure those are available in the U.S.

The 1Dx2 has been my lifeboat as a wedding photographer

Sometimes I need to shoot is no light conditions as was the case at this outside wedding reception. The event ran 2 hrs late and dance shots were at 9PM

I was at 6400 ISO on Fast glass at F/2.0

And I was at 12800 with F/2.8 glass

I was i stop under because I did not want to go to 25000 ISO

These came out very good considering the light I was in

as for performance compared with the 5D4

The 1Dx2 rarely missed the shots. The 5D4 kept jumping to the light behind the couple and i missed about 30% of the shots

So there is a BIG BIG BIG difference BT the 2 bodies in poor light. One shot was useless. Had to go to servo and the 1Dx2 came through really well. 5D4 was about a 30% loss of keepers. seemed like it was 1 out of 3 that the 5D4 hit. Probably 8 out of 10 for the 1Dx2.

Major difference in performance BT the 2 bodies in identical light conditions is what I found. Both were set up almost identical for the wedding
