Since the 5Dmkiii and now the mkiv, a lot of people I know with these bodies ETTL, as its now easier to pull detail out of the shadows than to un-blowout the highlights.

Walls of this cave are covered with numerous signs and drawings from distant past

gates to this location shut at 6pm so had to get in before then and basically waited to do milky way (though did shoot other stuff in between)

I don't know about Californian wildflowers but the seeds of a lot of Australian plants have much higher germination rates after they've been exposed to smoke. Just one of the many ways that judiciously applied cool burns benefit the Australian environment.
