That is pretty special. What a gorgeous little owl.
The Old Boy is rather special too.

How I wish there were some around her.
Beautiful photos thanks.

I do wonder. I went down and showed my face and spoke to him (their hearing is probably more significant than their eyesight) when I got there so he would not be surprised when he came over to the hollow. No idea if either has any value but I doubt it would hurt.

Thanks Richard. There may even be a sibling in there too. Any day I see a Powl is a good day and seeing a chick for the first time is a good month!

They are gorgeous. Appealing birds.
Beautiful photographs.
How far do you have to travel to see such beauties?

Bit of a hike for these, 20 minute drive! There is another pair about half way there. I also have a pair walking distance.
Another pair about 1 klm from above owls but I have not been able to find those lately.
They're all city slickers.

Glad to see the two chicks above did not fledge, very windy today. This chick did fledge though, sometime since Thursday.
Proud father below.

The two Powerful owl chicks did not fledge overnight. This afternoon they appeared at 4:02pm, almost 90 minutes sooner than usual. At 4:18pm I forced myself to leave, don't want them spending too much time distracted by me.

That Rebecca, quite frankly, is one of the best owl in flight shots I've ever seen. It is seriously an amazing shot.
