Just got the 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM today. Miss having a macro. Went to my company's garden rooftop and look what I found!

Another red-eyed fly.

Surely is amazing. Thanks
Is that a single image? Curious if it's handheld.
However it's done it's commendable.

Thanks - single image using diffused flash. Handheld... but with flash, camera or subject movement is no issue.

Here's a Jersey Tiger moth I found recently one early morning on a sunflower. This was taken with the wife's Lumix G6 and the Vario 30mm macro that I bought for using with it (when allowed :-) ); it makes for a very versatile walkaround outfit, going all the way from 1:1 out to 30mm for portraits and landscapes.

Like these a lot - I have a habit of being distracted by hoverflies and small bees on flowers. We have a lot of Lassioglossum species here where we are.... below is one I found deep in a very orange daisy one evening a month or so ago, also taken with the Lumix outfit. I find these small bees especially fascinating in that they are very important pollinators and many people don't recognise them for what they are. They're the unsung heroes of the plant world as far as i am concerned :-D

Stunning, some sort of vapour moth cat?

Thanks. I'm pretty sure it is a White-Marked Tussock Moth Caterpillar. Lee

Just a few bugs found around where I live. Old shots, haven't used a macro lens recently.

Nice shot...pretty moth. Your wife's Lumix does a great job, so does the guy behind the camera.
