We had tax free day here last Saturday and I picked up a 18-400 Tamron as a walkabout zoom for when I am out with the wife and don't want to carry a camera bag and extra lenses.
At the same time a Canon 35mm F/2 called my name and forced me to take it home with me.
Now I am wondering and agonizing that since it has a 30 day return privilege should I keep it for walking around when I don't want my 18-400 say in the evening when it is getting darker or cloudy days, or at society meetings where I might be mingling and want to take candid pictures.
the other lens that I have been using for this is the 18-135 STM. I grew up shooting with a 50mm lens especially since the zooms back in the day (60's & 70's) weren't that good. but since I have had my digital camera's starting the original Rebel I have used the 18-55 or now the 18-135.
The 18-135 is 3.5-5.6 and the 35 is f/2 but I usually just boost the ISO (ASA) on my 80D, get good results up to 2000 ISO
I will do some walk about and try it, but it seems like I might miss some shots that you can compose with a zoom.
