I almost hope that mistake never happens.. Do you remember the number of cameras that just didnt cut it. I do.. I would like to see something all new. but we'll take what we can get I do suppose. And with Nikon throwing the 6 & 7 into the ring with paired down ergonomics to save money I'm betting Canon leaves you and me wanting.

I’m heavily considering a jump to the Nikon D500 + that new 500 PF f/5.6, but right now I think my path will take me back to the 400 DO II + whatever crop sensor Canon deems us worthy of. Hopefully it’s a 7d3 with better high ISO.

Thanks Jeff.
Poor old baldy. He does look a bit left out amongst the others.
Must be quite noisy at times too.
A video would be pretty awesome.

Just a random gopro on the feeder morning

This same feeder a bear took to the ground then pooped beside the house a night ago... :p:-D:oops:

It would definitely be different. Nothing wrong with trying something new. Theres a lot of Canon shooters that are defensive about conversation involving moving to something else. Personally I want that new model I've been looking for not the rehash of a old camera. I loved the 7DII even though it kept breaking down on me. Theres a lot of guys here that have moved to the newer mirrorless cameras and there going to be a lot more in the next year.. What to do.. What to do ... lol. I need more camera right now.. lol

Maybe send that 1DxII and the 600mm over here for a week lol :p:-D:oops:

Indigo Bunting. I could have cropped it more, but I like the Blue Spruce.

Get the lens Jeff, that'll do more for your photography than a new fangled body would do. The lens is the look where as the body is just the medium used to capture that look. I dont see your quality of work changing for the body you choose to use.
I know yours is broken and you need to be thinking about something new but do you really feel that you'll take better stuff with a different or different style of body. I know that I am certainly not as able as my camera is yet!
As an aside, there's nothing wrong with just wanting something different/new, and often that will give new vigour to ones search for better so indirectly that can help!

It'll be fun seeing what the next generation of enhancements will bring to the world of bird photography. Mirrorless is cool and all, I definitely love shooting with this Fuji x100F, but going back to my Canon clunkers just feels right. Canon has to nail the ergonomics so that we all transition seamlessly, or else we won't like using whatever it is they bring out.

Man, I wish I had the 1DX II, but the 5D4 is working for me, so that's where I'll stay for now. I'd definitely let you borrow the 600 if we were near one another, you'd probably be teaching me a thing or two when it was all said and done!

If it means anything, whatever I can make with my 5D4/80D + 600 is a definite level below the work you consistently turn in here, so it ain't the gear, sir :-)
