I can only imagine because they wanted all foreground items pin sharp. I shoot 28mm, I can't always get everything in focus enough even at f/11

If people focus stack normally, why not focus stack with a long exposure...?

I was curious because I focus stack quite a bit(PSCC) and the software tries to select the sharpest focus. I have never had the patience to do it manually but then again I generally work with 10+ images............

Don't even begin to think I'm criticizing your images.
Just a natural curiosity.

I had to comment on this one. The sky is nice, but the rocks...………..

The way they pick up the color from the sky and the blurred water looks more like a earie, creeping fog.
Great job!

Sometimes one is presented with scenes of such balance in nature that they are almost unreal, such as this one at the Cathedral Cove in New Zealand.
