Jul 23, 2018 06:24 | #33 More than 18 wheels here! Schurl 128 Tyres (1) This is one side of the trailer. The axles don't go all the way across they have 2 "half " axles, that is there are duplicate axles on the other side. The trailers are know as rows of 8, in this case 16 rows of 8 = 128 tyres on this trailer. Notice how the front axles are steering one way & the rear axles steering the other way. gb From GB

Aug 08, 2018 18:51 | #36 Here are a couple of examples of a different configuration. Known as C Triples, or C trains, they allow more cargo space without exceeding allowable lengths in metro areas. aGB5D6272 Trans Plus, always well presented trucks. IMAGE LINK: https://www.flickr.com …2127118230/in/dateposted/ aGB5D6274 On this one (registered in South Australia) you can see the unusual middle trailer which allows to couple 3 trailers & stay within the permitted lengths. gb From GB

Interesting that you Aussies can have way more. Occasionally, I'll see double trailers, but a single trailer is quite common on our highways. It might have to do with safety regulations, since trailers are on busy highways. I'm in a metropolitan area that also has mountains to the North (where in some stretches, even single trailers have a hard time getting up or breaking while going down the mountains). Nice range of pics by the way! Canon 5D mk IV
