Wow, you have so many in-flight shots! I hardly ever manage to catch a bee in flight.

Am I right in thinking this photo shows a beewolf in the act of taking a bee? Brilliant photo....

Thank you!

I'm not really sure what was going on. (I was actually kinda wondering if bees mate missionary style?! Lol!) I was taking pictures of the bugs in my front yard & then this happened right in front of me. I got 2 photos off (the other one was OOF) & then they both took off in opposite directions. A couple days later I did see something similar when I was coming back from getting the mail. 2 bees (or maybe they were wasps?) fell to the ground right in front of me. But they looked more like they were fighting. There was a lot of buzzing & tussling around. And then they both took off. The ones in the picture were relatively still. Not a lot of movement like the 2nd pair I saw.

Cicada Killer - don't see a lot of these. They are fairly big, so some folks think they're hornets, but they are a wasp and if left alone, no threat to humans. I suppose I'm cheating here since they they aren't really pollinators. ;-)a But what the heck, breaking rules is FUN!
