Haven't seen one started yet, so here we go. Can't believe summer has ended!!??

Please post all the action: midget, high school, college or pro. I love seeing the images of so many of the great photographers here on this forum!!

I'll start it off.

This afternoon was our first home, pre-season game. Time for rookies to shine!!!

I like the corner of the end zone, unless the team is close to the goal line. When they are close there is usually a ref standing there.

I was going to say there should be a ref at the pylon. And it gets really crowded down there. I usually retreat to under the goal post to avoid having a ref ruin my shot. Well done.

Thank you. I've been joking for years that I'm planning a photography book titled "Asses & Elbows". Between referees, coaches, other players and video guys, it does get very congested. Video photogs are the worse! Their "restriction line" is 2 feet in front of the line for still photographers and you can run the entire length of the field to get the perfect position and just as the ball is about to be snapped a film crew sets up right in front of you. Nothing you can do, video is king when it comes to professional sports. God forbid you step in front of one of their shots.vmad

Thanks for posting the images, keep them coming, love to see other people's work, especially on this forum!

I love the shots of them coming onto the field, always excited and full of energy. The paper never uses them anymore but I can't stop myself from shooting the team as they break through huge banner!

Nice action, very sharp. I have the 400mm F/5.6 but is often too much reach (never thought I'd say that) on my crop 7Ds so was looking into the 300mm used.

Thanks for sharing.

I know a lot of guys that bought the 300mm strictly for use at Pirate games. They have a 400mm, but it's just too much from the dugout pits. They love it!

My dream is the 200-400mm F/4 1.4x. Canon had a trailer at the U.S. Open last year in Pittsburgh (Nikon wasn't there :-P).
They let me use it all day Sunday for the final round. They almost didn't get it back!
