I find that the 1Dx2 has better low light capability.... I am gonne save up and get 1 soon!~

It really does have great low light abilities but it's really heavy, even with a modest lens.
Having suffered back and shoulder injuries I can no longer drag it around with me.

I'm trying to sell mine in the uk at the moment but there is virtually no interest in them.

Hi Red Dexs

I have both bodies. The 1DXii is hands-down the better of the two. I shoot mainly wildlife and my sons' sports (rugby and basketball) so the superior speed and AF were the main reasons I bought the 1DXii. The 5d4 is also great and if the high speed and AF needed for sport and wildlife action wasn't required, I'd be perfectly happy with just my 5D4. Hope this helps.

Jorgac wrote in post #18694668 (external link)
One last point, Red Dexs. If I'm travelling to a non-wildlife destination, I'll always favour the 5d4 over the 1DX2 purely because of the weight and size difference - and I'm 45 and usually handhold my 1DX2 paired with my 500!

Having just sold my 5D4s due to the need for faster AF and FPS, I agree with both of these statements 100%. It is a better all-around performer, but the weight is something you will have to adjust to. I think the images out of the camera are better, there's a look about 1D series and D-series images that isn't mimicked in the other full frame bodies.

The Sacramento Zoo, in conjunction with Mike's Camera, holds a twice yearly "Camera Day" when you can "rent" bodies and lens from various vendors including Canon. I managed 2 times to rent out a 1DXII for 2 hours at a time. The last one I paired it with my Tamron 150-600 and used a black rapid strap. I really didn't find the weight difficult, though when out photographing on trips and workshops I usually spend up to 4-8 hours. I turn 48 in 8 days though so your point is well taken

I have both and honestly, I try to rely on my 5D4, but if it's a situation like a dark reception, I need my 1DX2. My 5D4 is always for portraits, real estate, landscape, etc. If I had to choose 1, it'd be the 1DX2 hands down. The reduced MP size has never really been obvious to me. I thought that it would make a big difference. The hands-down champion in a wedding is the 5D4 though, the shutter on it is practically silent. The 1DX2 is like throwing a grenade at the altar. Weddings stretch both bodies to their strengths, it's a tough decision to make.

You know, I shot my first wedding with my 1DxIIs about 3 weeks ago and really concerned about this. As I was leaving the ceremony, a couple came up to me and asked if I had been there the whole time (they sat about 5 rows from the back and I shot from the back exclusively as the aisles were way too tight for me). I said yes and asked why. They said they had never been to wedding where they didn't even realize there was a photographer present. I was a little taken back by this and asked if they ever heard my camera as I was concerned it was a little loud for a wedding. Both of them said they never heard it. Granted, I was using the "silent" mode, but to have someone who was literally less than 10 feet from me the whole wedding say they never heard made me think it was all in my head.

Crazy! Considering that the "silent" mode just separates the mirror slaps. Apparently, you were using Han Solo's stealth mode!

If I am in the UK (Newcastle) now, I would definitely ask you out for coffee and consider a bid. :p

Did you illegally 'modify' your 1DxII? :p

I think the "S" refers to multiple 1DXII.

Yes, multiple 1Dx II. I asked a couple other people and they said about the same. The officiant, who was in the 20-30 foot range, said it never bothered her and she never noticed. I get the sense it is alot louder when it is right near your face, maybe not so much when you are away from it and not paying attention. I also didn't rattle off a 3-second burst or anything as that may have gotten some attention, possibly gotten me drawn down on.

But I will say, when you are shooting it in what seems like dead silence, that shutter sounds louder a airplane taking off.

Newcastle is a fair distance from me as I'm on the south coast.
The camera is for sale and I have it at a "give away" price before I sell it to a dealer.

If you compare with the previous one, you'll notice the top right corner and bottom left are different, that's right. Because I was handheld and following the biker, so I had to use content filling in Photoshop. Asked two colleagues and they said they didn't notice it was completely fake.
