Love it, angry looking beastie!

Not as angry as a burrowing owl... but angry none the less!

Interesting Egret. Nice photo.
What's the vegetation in it's beak for?

Needed as much reach as I could get to take this photo, other than using the 2 x TC.... I borrowed my Son's Canon 760d it has a 1.6x crop where as my 1d4 has 1.3x. Manually focussed as AF not with the 2x.

Eastern Phoebe. I took this one on my recent trip to Winnipeg. A lifer for me. I was surprised at how close he allowed me to get. Are they usually very approachable birds? :-)

That's cool Paul, not something you see in SW UK very often, did you have to go far to see that?

Hi Sid, the Osprey has been showing now for just over a week at RSPB Shapwick (Noah's Lake), just opposite RSPB Ham Wall (15 miles from home). The light has not been wonderful and it is so far out and only just visible with the naked eye.

Probably a northern bird stopping off on its way back to Africa, and you got to see it and get the shot so that's better than me, I've never seen one. Another I intend to rectify next year when they're back.
