One day, it came to my attention that the transfer rate between my card reader and desktop became slow and erratic. It's a cheap card reader so I figured its time has come, but when I connected it to another usb port, it worked just fine. Then I suspected the PCI card but diagnostic turned over no negative results. It dawned upon me at that point that the cable went bad - it didn't go bad on its own but I saw telltale evidence of damage - I knew who the culprit was right away upon discovering the cause of performance loss..

Oh well, it was a good exercise to use the XF 80mm macro lens...
