Yes Rob it is an amazing lens for those dragons ,especially with the 1.4 extender attached.

Hi Everyone.
Looking at all the excellent Damsele/Dragonfly pics posted I thought I'd get out and see what I could do.
I'm fairly happy with my results but I will probably go out again this weekend to try again. I could only find the red dragonflies yesterday but there are normally blue and green damseles out there.
Gotta look up the name of this one. Any ideas?

Yup, it's a landscape lens also! Sadly , these are the few instances I wish I had a better ISO camera though!

I would have loved a faster shutter speed for the shot, so there is motion blur on the bird and waves. If I zoom at all as it is the grain is not appealing. Basicly me saying whaaa whaaa whaaa!

the setting used was me trying to stay in my cameras boundries of being usable. All I ment was I wish I had a camera with better ISO flexiabilty . I love this camera, But when it hits that ceratin breaking point with ISO it goes really wrong. Like I said , it was me whining a bit that is all! No, not cameras fault just the cameras limitation .

Thanks for the 'likes' everyone - appreciated.
I would like to post a few more from that shooting session.
Using the 1.4X MkIII Extender.

I might try and capture similar shots for comparison using the 100mm IS Macro.
It almost seems - with 'tongue in cheek' I add - that the 70-200 2.8L ISII and the 100mm macro has been relegated to back of the drawer.
