Very interesting shot Clipper

I think its a French/'Swiss Hiefer that I came across while up in the alps hiking the Mont Blanc Circuit. Weather was that bad on the day I saw him we( my family) nearly moved in as his room mate for a few hrs ..... Mind you the bloody bell around its neck wouldnt have been peaceful at all...And I dont think he liked me too much either..........So we continued on to the next refuge to beat the weather where not only did we get a straw palliase each for the night but also a hearty bowl of homemade beef stew that refuge manager had just prepared .

Image below is my daughter with her mule on the Mont Blanc track just before bad weather hit and second image is whiteout almost upon my son and daughter and a few other hikers who decided to go through this as a group for safety reasons as the whiteout approaching looked bad .This was at about 3,000 meters+ where whiteouts can appear from no and are bad at certain points of track where it narrows :)

Cheers

Donkeys as pack carriers. Never seen that before.

Interestingly we actually came across a mule used by a group of 4 hikers that was the biggest mule Ive ever seen in my life. Like had more than double what our donkeys were carry each and this mule towered over the hikers he was that tall... . I would come across this group every day or so( we were over a week on the track ) and quite often I would see one of the hikers holding on to the mules tail to help pull him up the steeper sections of the track....Crazy to watch :)

The donkeys we had had done that track quite a few times before and were generally good crossing rivers and creeks etc although one creek I do remember ended up having us take over an hour to get him coaxed over it . This guy below was easy though even crossed a few on his own !
