It seems that a subject holding a light is one of the greatest trends in astrophotography, this year. So I embraced the cliché! :lol:

Yes, and even if it wasn't a new moon the moon sets late enough that I'm able to get about 3 hrs of milky way or so before its even up

netted this one on some time off this summer before the wildfire smoke rolled into northern BC. 0 setup, 0 prep. Completely off the cuff. captured late one night at my parents cabin. planning this winter some time to get out and do a proper excursion. we have almost 0 light pollution up there.
