Almost got wet here.... lol Western Sandpiper... Was crazy... a small group of them came very close, and then all decided to have a nap. Perhaps 6-8 feet away from me. Most of the shots were not great because of too many in the frame..... this is the best solitary I got.

Green heron

Love the depth the feather shadows give it :-)

JEEZE LOUEEZ!!!
I've been away from the group since late July ... soo many new posts to go through!
On top of that everyone seems to have upped their game since the last time I was here!

My tremor has progressed to the point that even with IS and a monopod I'm having camera shake issues.
(typing is also an adventure...lots of unintended double keystrokes)

Going forward, I need to start working with a tripod (sigh) and probably a remote release (to keep my wobbly digits off the camera).

Anyhoo...here's the few that I managed to salvage from yesterday's grey, drizzly morning at the lake.

Here's a little Snowy Egret...

Have you tried the 100-400 mkII? The IS on it has helped me deal with my tremor. I also use the manfrotto 393 head when I can bring a tripod

The 100-400 mkII is definitely on my wishlist...just have to justify the funds. (Haha!)
I've always wondered about gimble heads and whether they'd provide enough stability for me to use "hands-on."
It'll be one of those "try-before-you-buy" scenarios, though.

How bad is your tremor? Is it ET or Perkinson's? (Mine is ET)
