Nice capture for both you and the bird. One of the reasons I quit fishing, the birds were catching more and bigger fish than I was. :p

Ruddy Turnstone -- I guess a fairly common bird for many of you but in my neck of the woods they're rare.

That is a beautifully done shot, Doc.

Paul, that's a beauty. This guy knows how to fish. If he and I had a contest, I'm sure he'd kick my butt.

Kevin they are truly magnificent.
You've obviously better light than down here at moment.
No way could I get that at ISO 200.
Beautiful,vibrant.

Ah. Missed that comment above. Still speaks well of light and no doubt technique, steady hands.
Even at 400 the speeds are pretty poor.

Thanks Richard. Had 3 days of intermittent dark cloud/showers/bright sun where it's bright one minute and dull the next. It can go from 3 stops difference in a matter of minutes

Thanks Richard.
The Anhinga spears fish, flips them ino the air, and swallows them head-first.
This Anhinga speared the fish so hard, it had to return to the small Island and bang the fish against a tree branch to get it off its bill.
Happy trails,
Paul
