You'll probably find that most pics in this and other sporting threads have been shot at, or close to, max frames per second for a given camera body.

I shoot in high speed shutter but tend to try and time my shots as best I can. I do let it rip when things are really happening but as I shoot in RAW the buffer fills up quite quickly and I've found I've missed a shot because the camera is 'busy' writing to the card....So I try not to go too crazy with high speed burst.

What sort of FPS rate does the 5d3 give you . Id like to upgrade to Full frame but can’t quite stretch to a 1DX. The IQ from the 5d3 looks superb.

I couldn't tell but it's not overly fast. 5d3 is great but I'm planning on getting a 7dii (or maybe 7d3) before next season starts....I'd like a tad more reach.

I shoot with 5D3 and 7D2 …. I think 5d3 is about 6 FPS. I use it for the nearer shots and 7D2 for beyond the 22 (standing from behind deadball line).

Just crop, really. Could open up the lens a bit for better isolation, too. Hyper picky would be where's the impact shot?
