Nice hawk shots in the "bath tub," but I think you have a cooper's hawk there.

Thanks , changed to Coopers.

So I see you shooting with both the 5DIV and 7D2 on the same subject, how do they compare?

When I get back to my iMac I'll let you know. I hate working on this 13" screen. I has going to wait until I get home but I couldn't help it. :-)

From past posts. The 7D2 is an excellent camera and I would have no issue using it only. However as I have said before I feel the 5D4 edges it out in IQ. Fine details, cleaner files (although you can work with that on the 7D2) and better for crops. I have all AF points available at F8. The 7D2 better AF point coverage in the viewfinder due to sensor size which I prefer. The 5D4 could use a few more FPS. That would have made it an almost perfect camera. As for AF speed and tracking for BIF I'm still on the fence. Every situation is different so I can't really say for sure. I rarely come home empty handed with either body.

I'm testing both out as I'm getting pretty serious about selling a few lenses and one body, possibly both, as I have my eye on the 1DX II.

I should say I'm really getting very interested in the 1DX II and trying to decide which lenses and body I'll need to sell to get it. Not sure how long ML will take a while to catch up to it and I'll have no issues using a DLSR for birding.

A friend of mine recently got the 1DX2 and loves it but he shoots mainly large wildlife not birds and also can get close to subject. That for me is the deal breaker. My 5DIII also gives me slightly better files but Id rather use the 7DII for any wildlife not close. I am now at the stage where Im thinking I will never replace the full frame with another DSLR and perhaps Id consider a 7D3 in the long term if I ever need another DSLR for birding. ultimately I think for landscapes and everyday Id go to mirrorless if I can ever afford it

Not exactly wildlife, but I now bring you examples of the North American Nerd in their native habitat:

Expressions of those two are great, this photo would be a great one for a comic speech bubble competition :)

Definitely a different pose DP, but it sure looks cool.

Both shots are very different, but very appealing. The first shot is absolutely gorgeous and in the second shot, I like the expression on the face of the kangaroo on the left.
