Mm. I can relate to that. Sorry to hear.
Last 2 cats suffered the same fate and unfortunately required intervention.
Certainly leaves a hole in your life, and a lump in the throat.

One of ours used to sit and watch the birds on TV and started wowing and making noises, ready to pounce.

I had to say goodbye to my best friend today. She was nearly 15 years old and spent the last ten years inside the house and slept next to my left shoulder every night. I took her to the vet a week ago, knowing she wasn't well. She got a shot of penicillin, then antibiotics for about 7 days. But I decided the best thing to do was end her suffering after she kept getting worse day to day. I used to laugh so hard when she was trying to catch chipmunks or birds on youtube videos, even looking behind the monitor to see where they went. LOL. R.I.P Mother Kitty, you were a real jewel among felines.

I'm really sorry for your loss, it is always hard to let them go... :-(:-(. R.I.P. Mother Kitty

Thanks everyone for your condolences. I have no less than seven other candidates in the yard or workshop vying to be the next inductee for comfortable inside living.
Two of them need some serious taming before they will let me get close enough to make pets out of them. Cats have been coming and going from here for decades and the supply chain is a long one. I don't know if they wander here from nearby farms or they are drop offs from the city over the hill from my place. But, they always get a shot at a food dish.

We ran across this handsome fella on a beach in Gulfport, MS on our way to Daytona Beach, FL. I'd say he hasn't skipped many meals.

So sorry about Mother Kitty. Our cats become like children, and their passing leaves a hole in our hearts.

Embrace those who seek the truth; run from those who claim to have found it.
