The 5DsR and the new 100-400 are a nice walkaround combo :-)

Well done. You've certainly got that BIF nailed with 5DSR/100-400mm Combo ..

Still makes me laugh when I think back to the main reviews this Camera got when it was first released with the majority of initial reviews saying better suited to studio photography and/or Landscape work on a tripod than anything else. And some reviewers went even further by saying the camera was not suited to fast sports or wildlife. Couldnt be further from the truth. Infact this combo is is hard to beat for BIF especially with the ability to use the crop as a way to get closer to the bird so image fills the frame in PP. And the 50meg sensor means that these crops can be up to 70% and still you would be left with quite a sizeable image unlike the other cameras where one would be probably left with no image after a crop like that. Or to look at it another way the long end of the zoom at 400mm by way of heavy cropping(60-70% crop) gives the equivalent of what a cropped sensor would have at 100% of image(no crop)....

BTW I have a newer fuji I use for travel that when it was released reviewers had stated it had state of the art tracking with fast mirrorless AF and was suited to fast sports etc etc ....However in reality my Fuji still cant come anywhere near my 5DSR /100-400mm combo in both speed of tracking and AF on target aquisition .......and thats with 2 years seperating the models as well as the fuji being mirrorless .
cheers

One of the first images captured with my recently purchased 5DSR. No color enhancement, just a little shadow lightening in post. Even at 6,400 ISO, virtually no grain to speak of.

Last week my wife and I found a hiker in the Alps who extremely underestimated the path.
Finally we had to send an emergency call...

The EOS 5DsR is also good for action.

Hello:

I could use some help.

I looked through the user manual to see if it was possible to disable full time manual autofocus.
I could not find anything so I'm currently assuming this cannot be done.

Can anyone tell me otherwise and if so, how?

My thanks in advance.

Excellent - Are you using Noise Reduction software shooting at ISO3200?
