Made this shot back in 2014 on a cold rainy nasty December day. The Egret was being badgered by a cormorant and a pelican. He walked behind some reeds and was out of sight for a few seconds. When he re-emerged the fish was gone. Don't know if he swallowed it or if the pelican or cormorant got it or if he just gave up on trying to choke it down.

That is a beauty. Rewarded you well for your efforts.

It intrigues me the way these birds align the fish for devouring. Dexterity usually applies to humans and hands, but these birds take the cake.
I assume they do have mishaps.
