Cat dragged in... a heavy arse DSLR! :p

No real plans, only Tokyo and Osaka on the list. Any suggestions from anyone that's been there? Mr. Monk3y Famous? Heh.

HAHAHAHA. I have a loaded itinerary. Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Koyo San, Hiroshima, Miyajima, and Hakone. Might even get crazy and go to Sapporo. :)

nah no Jambalaya. Didnt have much cajun food. I actually got stomach flu and couldnt enjoy the trip fully lol zzzz and it turns out I became somewhat lactose. Certain milk I can intake, but some gives me the run

had some beignets and po'boys. po'boys were good! the place we went to at least. had cafe au leit with the beignets and thats what killed me.

yup! it's nice to see the competition. Now some fanboys can go mirrorless lol.

a7r! no need to bring two. most shots will be stills anyways. dont need the faster af. unless you prefer the a6000 for smaller body. Id take the a7r though for better iso for night shots. and the wide, dont forget your 16-35 !!

Yup most likely the A7r with 16-35 and 35 1.4, Hero 5 and Ricoh GR II (I freaking love this camera!!!) oh and new iphone plus (whatever they name it in two days lol)

OOOMar....good to see your postings.. what month are you going to Japan and which cities...just came back from Cuba and The Atlantis for bday celebrations with my daughter in law, son and family...I am not getting either Canon or Nikon, I may get the A7R3...but holding until next year.

Flying to Barcelona in 2 weeks to drive to San Sebastian then follow the trail to Santiago de Compostela then fly to Paris and to Lyon for the Leica One Challenge on Oct 13...then back To Paris for Christmas and New year with children and grand children...I hope to get images from Paris in early October.

Hey Tony! I have a loaded itinerary. Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Koyo San, Hiroshima, Miyajima, and Hakone. Might even get crazy and go to Sapporo. :) We are going in April for Cherry Blossoms and Sumo wrestling :) Will also catch some baseball as well. And of course RAMEN! and Sushi :)

Very nice photos. I loved Cuba! Went early last year. Went to atlantis a couple of years ago but really loved leaving it and spending time in the exuma islands. One of the most beautiful places i have been.

Kyoto might be good to add. ;-)a

Going in January, so expecting it will be cold. I'll probably lug a 16-35 and 24-70 and smartphone.

Add yakitori to that list! Heh. :-D

Farlet, how's the sirui ball head?

Never got to answer this.

The Sirui ballhead I have is okay. Too bulky and the controls are not easy to fine tune. It's a "meh" a/s plate ballhead for me. -?

Converted my old manfrotto ballhead to a/s and I think I like that better.

Need to look into a better ballhead with controls that are easy to fine tune but price on those go up quick. ;-)a

yes yakitori and beer is a must! they are everywhere. best at night.

you need to get a mirrorless :D lots of walking in Japan.

my biggest tip is to wear the most comfortable walking shoes you have and invest in some blister creme.
