I snagged a goody copy of the A6500 plus an MC-11 Adapter and a Smallrig cage ay a good price. I am anxious to get to learn this new (for me) camera.

I have been a photographer for well over 60 years - a goodly portion of that time as a Navy Photographer's Mate (I retired after 32 years as a Master Chief) and I have been shooting Canon DSLR cameras since the 10D was Canon's flagship crop DSLR;

I had intended to rent a mirrorless camera to see if I like the basic concept. I am glad that I bought a used A6500 because it is going to take mmea while to make the decision on whether I like this camera or not.

The MC-11 adapter (which is only advertised as being compatible with certain Sigma lenses) does not seem to function as well as I had hoped with the Canon glass that I own.

I have ordered a used native Sigma lens to see how I will like the package....

I will keep you updated...

Welcome to the club. MC-11 works like charm on my canon 50/1.4 and 17-40 F4L.
Its worth updating firmware of MC-11 and A6500 to latest and give it a try.

These little cameras are great. They do all kinds of things well that people say that can't do. I just shot my sons high school game at night in terrible lighting with a metabones adapted Canon lens.... great keeper rate and tracked the action really well. Menus take a while to get used to .... particularly if you are transitioning from Canon. I still shoot both... but have gotten used to it.

Give it time.... there are things these cameras do you will love (in body stabilization) , and you'll wonder how you lived with out EVF after you get used to it. Congrats and welcome to the party

Its by knowing and mastering all the rules that you learn which ones you can break.
