Report from Nokishita saying 3 new mirrorless, 3 new DSLRs.

Mirrorless is not higher resolution. One DSLR @ 6960 × 4640

The image comparisons posted on The Digital Picture between the EF 50L and RF 50L are very impressive to see, the RF will 50L will be very popular and a maybe even a lens that people will buy the EOR R for!

Exactly where my head is at

If the camera had dual cards this 50L and future lens thay may introduce would entice current canon shooters to step into the mirrorless game.

The adapters have to work well so you can mount the L's to the new EOS_R's and people will move that direction.

Well this is disappointing. Probably going to be 2-3 years before something worth upgrading to for me.

I saw that. One of the mirrorless is full frame, the other two are APS-C. Now I'm interested. :)
Two of the DSLRs are also APS-C (90D and 7D Mark III?) The other one didn't say what it was so it may be full frame.

So at most a 26Mpx FF and 2 24Mpx APS-C?

I don't think that is going to go over well. Hopefully this one and only FF is minimally a 1DX level camera, but they will need to think about a high resolution 5DSr replacement to really get some momentum.

I agree. I'm looking for something in the 40-50MP range as my next upgrade. It doesn't exist other than the A7r III or the 5DSr and the 5DSr is older now.

If this first EOS-R was the 5DSr replacement, it would fit better. Low burst rate, but 46-50Mpx... there would probably be alot more interest, but also the cost would go up $500 at least.

That would be about right, as I see it. Then it would show that this new R camera has a clear purpose, and it'd be right there in terms of resolution and price with the A7R3 where it should be. Then have a 26MP faster performing FF mirrorless camera to compete with the A7III. That would give Canon a competitor to most of what's on the market (and probably the biggest sellers), while they buy a little time to develop and test an A9 competitor.

Introducing a high-res version first would have also made a lot more sense of Canon's initial lens offerings. As it stands now, there are amazing high end pro lenses with a mediocre lower end body that tries to split features between entry level and prosumer, and most of us don't seem to be thrilled with that approach. To the entry level consumer it ticks all of the boxes but is simply too expensive, and to the prosumers who don't mind the price it lacks features they see as necessary.

Yes I would be far more interested. I'm just looking for high quality stills. Don't care about video, etc. I wouldn't care if the cost went up.

My main hope would be a mirrorless that is good enough that I want it, soon enough that I could sell/convert some of my EF lenses to RF without them losing a ton of value. I would keep some EF lenses for my other cameras though.

Something like an 11-24 in RF would be perfect for me. Pair that with the 28-70 and my landscape stuff is pretty much covered. Maybe an adapter to fit my EF 70-200 for the rare times that I need something that long for landscape.

Apparently this 24MP sensor is the new 18MP sensor, it's going to be in everything!

Yep...I've gone from 5D to 5D3 and now 5D4: having the ability to raise under-exposure after the fact is a nice feature! I'm also finding 30MP to be nice for detail. But also, when I've revisited my old 5D RAWs, I've found they can look better and have some more exposure latitude with the newer Adobe software engines.
