Awesome, Please Sony, bring back the apps on the mkiii bodies. I really miss SR since I upgraded to the A7iii

Thanks Gary. I hope Sony rectifies that situation. It’s unbelievable that they would drop support of the apps.

I get nostalgic about the a7R from time-to-time. Even with the adapted 24ZA on it, still portable enough...

TBH, for the price they are going for now--used--it is tempting to pick one up as a travel/landscape body.

At Universal Studios, Orlando.

that is crazy sharp and good...

I get to play with the 100-400 next weekend, I rented it for the trip to the Smokies for the Elk Rut...

Along with coyotes, it's a great Elk Rut lens too! In fact this is the only Sony lens I own.

I wished I had it this year when I went to Point Reyes...the 70-200 with the 2x just wasn't enough.

Yes, at Pt. Reyes, you really need some reach. I still carry my 7D2 with the 500+1.4 when I go there, although the atmospheric conditions can really reak havoc on supertele shots there this time of year whether due to fog, or just the heat stored in the ground that wafts up as the sun comes out.

Is anybody successfully using the Metabones V and canon 70-200mm II on an a7iii?
I am struggling and it is frustrating. Metabones seems to work absolutely great with other canon lenses just not this one. This lens is my Goto lens too

I have used it on the a9 and it was pretty good. The GM is better though.

Played a bit with the 16-35 Gm .. I should have also asked to look at the 24-70gm..

anyway the 16-35 is not as big as I thought it would be or as heavy .. or maybe I just got used to the 85 gm and 35L size and weight..
the pics straight out of camera looked better than I expected in terms of contrast and color.. I was expecting it to be more like my 85.. I guess just because they are both "GM" lenses:oops:

if I did get this lens , the 35L is gone (again lol.. this time for real).. and again, i'm considering getting rid of the 85gm.

leaving me with the 16-35/ 28 / 55 / 90 (and if I want super shallow DOF I have an rokinon ef85 1.4.. yeah not the same quality as the GM.. but..). I think this could work for me for all I shoot .. portraits , cityscape and travel.. well , all except street .. Honestly I have a difficult time shooting street candids with the a7r3.. I find my Fuji works a lot better for that.. maybe its the high mp that doesn't work well for zone focusing and quick raising of the camera / not very steady shots?.. but also button layout .. atleast in my opinion

I swore I would never buy another lens for more than $1800 .. the last lens I bought for more than that was the 24-70L mkii soon after release..

but I hesitate to buy such a lens second hand.. as i'm hearing that there are quality variations , and I want to be able to return easily.
that being said , i've never tested any of my lenses for decentering or anything like that.. of any brand .. I wonder how many i've had that aren't proper.
well I know I wont be testing anything I currently own because they are all way past there return periods .. and if I found out one of them was off It would drive me crazy and I cant imagine it being easy to sell a bad copy of a lens.. so I choose to continue to live in ignorance.

This may be the last high ticket item I purchase for a while , as i'm considering a change of jobs which would lead to a big pay cut.. , due to stress making me miserable.. pays well but ive gone from being a very laid back easy going person to always pissed off-?

but before I take that vow of poverty:-D I want to "complete" my sony kit... as well as eliminate any excesses (my gh5 kit) that I can already accomplish with my a7r3 .. or Fuji.. as it would help me fund the completion of my kits .. (yes I know a photogphers kit is never truly complete:-P)

ok.. ramble over.. thanks for listening:lol:
