Baby diamondback rattlesnake. It looks pretty intimidating in the pictures, but it's only about 12 inches long, and probably a week or so old. Even so, it is very aggressive, and has the potential to kill someone. I caught it and two others a few nights ago, soaking up some heat from my front porch, driveway, and this one on a brick at the corner of my garage. I released the other two in a wooded area near a creek, but kept this one to take some pictures. It'll join its siblings in a few days - after I get some more pictures.

I had to choose from the lens list, but didn't use the listed lens... I used an old 55mm, f:3.5 macro lens at f:16.

Gorgeous shot, Kevin. I like the birds pose.

Thanks Mike. He was "shouting" at me for disturbing his feed on my grevilleas :-)

Thanks Charles. It was very windy and the branch was swaying madly. I only got this one shot in focus from 32

Wonderful shot, Peter...such a magnificent bird. Horned owls have always been my favorite owl.
