Voigtlander 21 has a price announcement in Japan, no US price yet. Something around 700 euros.

The lens is 39mm in length and 220g, my type of lens!

getting ready for the trip to the Smokies this weekend...a look back at some of the Tule Elk from Point Reyes earlier this year. I am hopeful that the 100-400 and the 2x do a little better than the 70-200GM did...

Something happened last night to the point where i put the camera up. slow focusing and erratic lock ups. Started off with the 100-400 GM and it's focusing was slow as grandma speed then the shutter press to shutter release was like something about 1/4 second. I switched to the adapted 200/2 and focusing was fast but the camera was experiencing freeze up conditions. I had updated the MC-11 recently and wonder if the new firmware sucks. I hadn't experienced that before.

....i shouldn't of sold off my 5D4. you know that camera that just works. I mean I know I was shooting in 1/640, F2, ISO 3200 darkness which was something around 1/500, 5.6 and 32000 for the GM but the 5D wouldn't do that.

I think anti-flicker was set to on but I wouldn't see how that would of caused such a delay.

Was going to test out some recent video equipment I picked up from adorama, but it arrived broken

not a huge problem, as it was just a screw, but enough for me to find out the hard way and change my plans.

end up doing a hyperlapse at the beach rather than test out my gear :-)

doubt it's better than loxia. Sharp like the CV 15 and I'll gladly accept. I want it mainly for the size, simply not a lot of options when it comes to very small lenses. I feel ok with the rest of my lens kit, and this is really the only lens I've been wishing for. I need a micro travel kit as I still shoot with the FE 35 2.8 primarily. I've got a really nice micro tripod rig which I really dig, need to make a really small travel kit, and I feel the 21 is the only missing link. 21 (MF), 35, 85, 200 (MF), 21 + 35 would be used together most often. Dont really bother bringing the longer lenses unless I have an idea specific for them. With a kit that small, I can really carry the whole thing without reservation.

Just waiting for the preorder button to show up :-)

Yeah I doubt it can touch the Loxia, I have and have owned plenty of VC lenses but other than the VC65 APO nothing comes close to the Loxia in my opinion. I do consider the Loxia a compact lens though compared to my other lenses that cover the 21mm focal range.

loxia is small, but not small enough ;-)a

is may seem like I'm too much of a stickler for these things, but I had a small lens bag (belt clip) that fits the FE 35, so it should fit the 21. Along with another bag that holds the camera with lens mounted (belt clip). Small lenses like the FE 28 (loxia size), dont fit into these bags.

I can get bigger bags, and do have some, but I dont like the added bulk, it means that I have to take off the bags while in a car or they just generally get in the way.

I'm the same with my tripods, my RRS travel tripod is actually huge compared to my real travel tripod (11 inches folded up).

keeping things micro like this gives me a more generally pleasant shooting experience. I generally wont have issues carrying more, if I know the trip will be shorter, but for all day shooting, I really want something smaller and lighter.

Can anyone with a bit more monitor knowledge explain what resolution of curved monitor I would want to get instead of dual monitors side by side? I would like the curved monitor to be able to open two applications side by side in normal resolution (4K I guess??). Is there a sweet spot for overall size? 34” for example?

I’m confusing myself reading all the different specs and resolutions

no scaling involved, great for side by side applications.

My CV10 can go toe to toe with the Lox21 but only in the center of course it gets smeary on the edge. I love my Lox but Voigts feel so solid and are tanks in the field. And I hate to say it but Voigts are better than Lox on sunstars!!!!

Beautiful examples of what can be done with the Canon 200 F2, wish there was a native solution for E-mount.
