Out of curiosity, how did the RAW Files Jared Polin released stand up against the testing?

Good question, and yeah, I had a play with them over a week ago when he released them, one was very underexposed, for this exact reason. I think I was giving it 3 stops in Capture one, and had no issues.

EOS R Adapters --- what size and from who?

One of the EOS R adapters is supposed to take drop in filters. Does anybody know where they can be purchased, and how much?

On another note, Joel Grimes just posted another video about hands-on shooting with the EOS R and various lenses with image samples. One out of the ordinary, was where he used the 90mm Tiltshift and a combination of manual focus with tracking, where he says converging diamonds indicate focus.

ummm...right now the Sony Macro is listed on DXO as the sharpest macro on the Market, even over my beloved 100mm 2.8L. The new 110mm Voigtlander Apo (Sony mount only?) may even top the Sony Macro.
Their 24-70 is supposed to be awesome too. Just because their 70-200 GM OSS *may* have issues is not indicative of other lenses "sucking".

And that LensRentals article I listed actually shows the A7RII making better images with non-native glass. There's a lot of happy folks using adapters--including a few doing weddings with adapted glass.
Maybe it's not what I would do, but they seem to be ok with it.
I think some of these statements are a tad broad man...

I agree. My 3 Sony native lenses are the 85GM, 24-70GM, and 70-200GM. I’ve found all of them to be excellent and just as good (or slightly better) than their counterpart EF lenses that I also own (85L II, Tam 24-70VC, and 70-200 2.8 IS II). I’ve got zero issues with the Sony glass I own. I can’t speak for other lenses, but most of their top end glass seem to get very good reviews.

yup absolutly 100% positive about that

I am well known on the Godox boards and a few other places. Too many people have issues with supplemental lighting systems on the Sony bodies.....But it is getting better

They just got trigger systems for the sonys in the past year that are consistent. But still lots of misfire concerns

Well ok but I haven't had issues with the godox triggered from either the A6000 or the Fuji xt2

And BTW. Funny thing is I don't see that many Sony users having issues with supplemental lighting compared to other brands. But that's just how I experience forum live and we may not be on the same foras

That’s one of the biggest advantages of the Godox system. You’re not locked in to only one camera system with your lighting. Swap brands? Just buy a new transmitter, that’s it. I’ve used mine with 3 different camera brands (Canon, Sony, and Olympus) and it’s been very reliable for me.

Im even using mine with Yashica and Mamiya MF and large format X-sync shutters on 4X5" and 5X7" cameras

B&H Photo list the adapter & variable ND filter for USD$399 here: https://www.bhphotovideo.com …t_adapter_ef_rf_with.html (external link)

same, but with a circular polarizer for USD$299 here: https://www.bhphotovideo.com …filter_mount_adapter.html (external link)

I'm sure I saw the plain adapter listed the other day but can't see it there now (maybe I just need my glasses...)

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

I had a play with them last night too and that shot was very hard to recover but it was a bit of an extreme example. Even with an A73, I would definitely bracket that.

Even though I use LR, I have noticed Capture One seems to recover detail better.

Its wonderful to see a video showing the stunning images taken with the eos R it would be more so if it had dual slots The Sony A7III gets rave reviews is priced 300 dollars cheaper than the eos R and has dual slots as a wedding photographer that has used the 5D Mark III and Mark IV I would loved to consider the eos R with the 28-70 f.2 for wedding photography it sounds like it would be ideal but no way am I going back to a single slot camera after all these years its not whining its a legitimate complaint.

...and it was a bit wobbly due to lack of IBIS ;)

(Though to be fair: most [all?] of the Canon DSLRs with dual slots only record video to one card don't they?)
