not me, love my Batis 25 and don’t need the 1.4

Crap! I shouldn’t have read Albert Dros first impressions on the lens. It’s light, reasonably small, reasonably priced, colours look amazing, sun stars are awesome!, and Sony highlighted the fact that it’s good at Astro although albert couldn’t test himself. This lens has actually sparked my interest for the first time tonight. It could arguably replace my loxia 21 (sun stars), Batis 25 (af) and Samyang 24 (Astro lens). Swapping 3 lenses for 1 lens is right up my street. Not going to do anything hasty though until Fred Miranda site has tested it to death and I know all the ins and outs

It's funny Eddie. One commenter on his post on PetaPixel hated the look of the lens. He was trolling anyway but I thought it was funny.

"My god, bad. Excessive 'lens bloom', poor tonality and lens contrast. Look's flatter than south Florida
The reason why this lens is bad is because its made under the 'brains' of Zeiss for Sony, and Zeiss wide lenses have always been extremely miserable."

I agree with you in that the lens looks really nice.

This water fall is 150 feet tall. A bit of a walk to get there but
worth it. This one is about 2 hours from home.

on the 24

State-of-the-art optical design faithfully reproduces point sources

A new optical design incorporating two precision XA elements suppresses sagittal flare, a common aberration in large-aperture lenses. Sagittal flare can cause an unnatural spreading of point light sources that becomes more pronounced towards the image periphery.

This is supposedly the reason this will be the king of astro.

After my hike at chaco I realized I like the tammy 28-75 but I am still at 28 more often. With Auto focus I think I could live without the mid range.

So my simple life is cv10, Sony 24/1.4GM, Sony 100-400GM - I think I can rely on my legacy lenses to cover any odd days with the FD 55/1.2, Viv s1 90 2.5 macro, and Jupiter 9 85/1.4

Im getting lighter and lighter.

Thanks Gene.
I think I mentioned a long time ago why I didn't get excited about waterfalls in Iceland.
Like many things, we just take for granted/acclimate to what we have in our own 'backyards'.
There are three falls in series on the hike/walk. That was the last. Used to they had metal
stairs going to the bottom and basin--long washed and 'landslided' away. There are other
falls in the area even prettier I'm told. An excuse to return. This area is about 80 miles west
of Knoxville TN on the Cumberland Plateau. Shame Poof and I have traveled to so many places
but rarely explore what we have here.

If bored check out this camping platform. The state park Edgar Evins is on a steep mountain.
They build these for the RVs and I saw some big honking RVs on them.

A gold star to anyone who can figure why the hood is open :)

Here's what it looks like at the bottom of the campsite/water front. The cliffs are 20-25 feet tall-

It could be you. Handsome. Nice voice. Travel frequently. Start with a youtube channel doing camera reviews. Get a sexxy
assistant like the Granger guy, that'll help you move along the ladder.

the 100-400 is in hand...and I like it a lot...it has a very tight zoom ring, something I always hated on the Canon Dust Pump...can't wait to point it at some Big Bull Elk tomorrow...

Hopefully I can acquire the FE 100-400 for Christmas. Looking forward to your shots with it.
