Spectacular!! Those bierds are exquisite!

Thanks, Doc. This kite made me follow him/her up one side of a big hill and down the other, slipping and sliding all the way in my street shoes (but that's another story), then speed-walking on a long trail under the hot sun before rewarding me with a series of flight shots. It was so worth it.

Linh I'd just love to see one someday.
To me they are the most beautiful of all raptors.
Close second are the Swallow-tailed and the Mississippi Kites.

10 star Crow. Another fantastic species many gloss over.
I've tried for years to get them to come to the backyard.....they'll have nothing to do with me.

Thank you so much for the super compliment, Robert. Don't wish for crows. We literally have hundreds of them right in my neighborhood. They have wiped us out of every nesting bird except mockingbirds and scrub jays, which fight them if they try to rob their nests. They really have become pests. I will say that they are fun to shoot with a camera, because being all black they are a challenge to photograph, especially in flight. I enjoy it, but wish we had some of our other species of birds back again.

Very nice crow shot, Mike. Not such an easy species to catch well.

Heck of a nice shot, Shalu. I'm going to go with raven. My only basis for saying raven, is because of the heavier looking bill in relation to the head size. I see where Jack sided with you and went with crow. That means I'm wrong again. :-(

Well I'm more inclined to side with you and say raven, down to the bill for me too. What's Jack gotta say 'bout that! :)

Mmmm...... I may be inclined to agree with you guys.. It looks like a small raven head to beak size and leg thickness. That means your all wrong and Jack wins again. I'm about always wrong lol

Really a nice shot of an osprey. Nice position on the bird and a clean contrasting BG. Well captured.
