Some Crab Spiders!

What an incredible spider.
I'm amazed they can successfully take on much larger insects.
Beautifully photographed.

A visitor to the outside table tonight - Zoropsis spinimana. This a gentle giant to us, but very handy in the pest control department and therefore not much appreciated by the insect world. Over the past few years I get the feeling these prey on other spiders a lot more than is generally believed.

Photographed with a Canon s120 plus achromats and LED lighting

Great looking jumping spider!

For my last set the third spider is sitting on a dead oxeye daisy flowerhead.

Ah, that's what it is. What a great perch!

All jumping spiders are wonderful-looking, surely? :-) Thanks for joining in with your photos, Thomas, I'm surprised there aren't more from other people.

I haven't come across a jumping spider yet that wasn't wonderful-looking haha. I'm also a bit surprised that this thread isn't more active with how active some of the other threads are.

Our ivy in Europe is now in flower, and it attracts all sorts of insects this time of year, including a bee that specialises on ivy. However, a host of other insects overnight in the ivy, and much to my surprise it seems my favourite ground spider, Zoropsis spinimana, is on the ball, actively hunting the sleepers at night, high in the leaf canopy. I found two on the prowl up there this week, including this rather large specimen.
